This should not be understood as a new directive given by Doxa and Smaul, starting the new decade with a digital only release. It was rather the varicolored fast output of Acid Pauli that urged to make decisions. Thus, Smaul 08 is a digital only release before Smaul 09 will be both again (12” and digital audio).
Acid Pauli’s first chuck in 2010 – carrying the colorful names of rivers such as Nil (A) and Mississippi (B) – is an expedition thru scopes already known but never stepped on by him that much assured.
Acid Pauli’s sound becomes more and more housy keeping a certain reduced Techno affinity. Nil (A) is built around an original shalm choir. It embeds the noisy melodrama that much common, as if never has been any difference between native world sounds and electronic dance music. Mississippi (B) holds back the cat in the bag until over three minutes – almost doubtful could be thought. But waiting will be rewarded – a certain wideness can really be seen. The trip on the boat down the river must just be enjoyed. Or, goes is upstream, actually?
