As fourth realease Smaul Recordings (exploited by Doxa) has chosen an “external” artist. Daniel Herrmann alias Flug is a photographer in first life who might be known to club folks since his documentaries of Robert Johnson (Offenbach) and Studio 672 (Cologne) also avaialble as fancy picture book. On his musical debut he brings moody tunes gliding gently between soil and sky. Flug 8 makes you feel suspended, let us find out where.

Untypically, Taunus is a pretty smooth track, that almost can be called ambient Electronica. Ein Bisschen Rock’n‘Roll plays from the beginning with a colorful tune floating gently over the beat all time. On side B Acid Pauli has done a remix of A2) that is a little bit more of Rock’n‘Roll (as the name implies) than Flug 8 has put in his version. Acid Pauli builds up a tribal excitement in winter mood, juggles with the tunes of the original and finally rolls it out to something like polar bear’s fur in front of the fireplace.
